    Rediscovering forgotten women composers

  • The title of the programme is doubly evocative here. In particular, it highlights the sad destiny of those many female composers who have too often been forgotten – such as the astonishing Clémence de Grandval – and who have recently been rehabilitated thanks to the efforts made in recent years.

  • From this observation, Anne Cartel and Marie Vermeulin wanted to create a programme of light and shade, combining transparency, brilliance and twilight. The programme features the evocative images of legendary women by Mel Bonis, the luminous and shimmering musical lines of Cuban composer Tania Léon, and the expressive power of the works of Sofia Gubaidulina, who died on 13 March 2025.
