Dr. Xenia Hanusiak is an international festival director, cultural diplomat, and artistic advisor. She is committed to the exchange of ideas and international relations through arts and culture. She believes that cultural narratives promote not simply a greater understanding of the arts but an important cognition of a nation’s values, ways of thinking, and as a way to dissolve borders and build trust.

Her current festival and works includes the world tour of Songlines for a New World (Spring Revolution Festival, National Sawdust, New York), In the Shadow of the Kreutzer (Beethoven Festival, Warsaw). Previous international productions include A thousand doors, a thousand windows (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Venice, Boston, Florence, Singapore, Beijing, Made in China (Beijing Music Festival), Earth Songs (Korea, Sydney, Melbourne), and The Garden of Joy and Sorrow (Melbourne International Arts Festival). Xenia is a strategic advisor and artistic consultant to international festivals, organizations, and governments including:  United Nations, Honens International Piano Competition, the Australia Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, World Federation of International Music Competitions, and Chamber Music Australia. She is thrilled to work with Ensemble Variances and is excited to open their important musical and philosophical messages to the world.
