Un jardin pour rêver
Tribute to landscape designer Pascal Cribier
Turn any place into the most beautiful place in the world
-
landscape designer and gardener Pascal Cribier saw an obvious similarity between gardens and music. As living, complex organisms, gardens are never quite the same on each visit, just as musical compositions change with each performance while retaining their identity. A garden transforms its appearance over time, depending on the imperceptible fluctuations of nature. In the same way, a piece of music varies according to the mood of the performer. In both cases, the perception of the visitor-listener's eye or ear is imperceptibly altered with each walk or each listening.

"Gardening means considering the time of meteors, the time of the living and the time of man. It means working hard to bring peace to the coexistence of plants," wrote Pascal Cribier, fascinated by the coexistence of different scales in the natural world: tall trees, shrubs and perennials, and by the ephemeral nature of flowering.
